The final phase of the Uptown Preservation Plan was completed with the purchase of this 30 unit quality affordable housing complex. Ownership, which consists of a partnership between CCDC and Hazel Winthrop NFP, was jointly supported by IHDA, the City of Chicago, the Alderman and local community organizations. Financing consisted of City bonds, tax credits, TIF assistance, HOME funds, and a new FHA first mortgage. The project is able to service a 100% very low income population and receives assistance under HUD’s Project-Based Section 8 program. Various amenities include: a fitness center, units and storage space greater than minimum requirements, upgraded landscaping, and new energy efficient appliances and HVAC system. Construction is expected to be completed in 2013.
